Key Responsibilities:
- Setup new entities in the accounting ledger and manage the journals during the close.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial accounts, ensuring full compliance with international accounting standards.
- Ensure that all premiums, claims, and commission transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
- Preparation of journals and reconciliations for month end/quarter end and year end.
- Manage the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Ensure financial records are compliant with local regulatory standards (e.g. UK GAAP) and international tax requirements.
Skills Required:
- Strong technical accounting skills and understanding of insurance accounting.
- Good attention to detail; proactive with strong problem-solving skills.
- A strong team player with the ability to be “hands on”.
- Qualifications ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified (or Qualified by Experience).
- Experience in the insurance market; preferably previous financial reporting experience.
- Experience of insurance balance sheet reconciliations, journals and technical accounting.
